@mcc That is definitely alarming and makes me wonder if you, in fact, are perhaps not using mod_php after all, if php persists after disabling and hupping. Apparently there are several php-fpm alternatives called helpful things like Swoole and Roadrunner (I had no idea about them until two minutes ago) - perhaps you are running one of them?

@mcc That does seem fair. I am mildly concerned about this PHP runs without mod_php enabled business though.

Oct 21, 2026, 2:26 AM@conniptions also, once i finally figured out how to shut the server down, i realized i had a very large and complicated set of rewrite rules set up for my cache server, and it's possible this was simulating PHP working even though PHP was not working. but that's something i'll figure out later. when my server is up again
