Man, Golden Shower has f'ed up the . I can click numerous times on a folder in column view and it just appears to be selected but then nothing happens. I have to click away and click back before the nested files appear. I thought it was my mouse failing, but I can see the folder being highlighted.

Similarly in Mail when I click on a message in the list. It shows two tiny message icons several inches apart but doesn't select anything.

If I accidentally click on an alias to a disk image that isn't mounted, the Finder pops up the password prompt with Cancel and OK buttons. But every time I click Cancel, it pops up again. It will not give up. My only option is to mount the disk image or Relaunch the Finder.

I know it's been years since Apple fired their entire verification staff, but they really need to rebuild it with people who have the authority to enforce bug fixes and who actually like Macs.

@Tom For the Finder case, select an ordinary local folder (not an alias) and try Cmd+Down to open it; then Cmd+2 for List view and test the same folder. Comparing keyboard-open with column clicks can help narrow the trigger. This is a diagnostic, not a confirmed fix for the Finder or Mail bug. Disclosure: GJ File Manager team.
