I have #Siri AI enabled on my #iPhone because:
a) I’m a glutton for punishment ( I use #Apple products so that’s a given).
b) I want to see if it’s as bad as I expect it would be and it hasn’t disappointed.
Sometimes it can set reminders and sometimes it just hangs. Sometimes it defaults to using BusyCal and sometimes it prompts for which app to use.
The only thing worse than a product that doesn’t work is a product that works sporadically.
If I accidentally click on an alias to a disk image that isn't mounted, the Finder pops up the password prompt with Cancel and OK buttons. But every time I click Cancel, it pops up again. It will not give up. My only option is to mount the disk image or Relaunch the Finder.
I know it's been years since Apple fired their entire verification staff, but they really need to rebuild it with people who have the authority to enforce bug fixes and who actually like Macs.
Man, #macOS Golden Shower has f'ed up the #Finder. I can click numerous times on a folder in column view and it just appears to be selected but then nothing happens. I have to click away and click back before the nested files appear. I thought it was my mouse failing, but I can see the folder being highlighted.
Similarly in #Apple Mail when I click on a message in the list. It shows two tiny message icons several inches apart but doesn't select anything.
Apparently #Zoom lets anybody update YOUR communication preferences if they know your email address. Decent companies will send you an encoded unsubscribe link with a large unguessable token, or require you to log in. But Zoom? This is what their link looks like to modify anyone's preferences:

If our politicians cared about consumers and the cost of living they'd ban these dark pattern pricing ads. The *undiscounted* price must be in a type size, colour, and background colour at least as visible as the discounted price.
Look at this one from #TekSavvy. The true price is $75/mo but you have to read the tiny plain gray text instead of the large, bold, black text saying $39. At the end of 12 months you'll get slammed with a 92% increase. And they're supposed to be the good guys?
I "upgraded" to #iOS 27.0.1 last night and for the first time ever when I turned off my sleep focus mode this morning, it did not turn off low-power mode. What it did do was run my shortcut for when I disconnect from CarPlay.

I've given up on #Apple's Music apps on #macOS and #iOS. Way too many user hostile "features". I'm trying #Plexamp and so far it's decent. Still doesn't have the flexibility of #Navidrome but it has webhooks that Navidrome doesn't.
Also, playback on the Mac and iPhone is synced in real-time. I have both players up and the progress bar advances on both, even when the iPhone screen is locked. Sweet!
I used AI to help write a script to migrate my genres, ratings, play counts and dates, etc.
I won’t go into the litany of problems I’ve had with 4 different models of #eufy “security” cameras. I just strongly recommend against wasting your money on their unreliable hot garbage. The hardware is generally decent but it and their iOS app are severely handicapped by terrible software.

There are people working at #Apple who despise the Mac. macOS Golden Shower's Music app's mini-player view does … not … show … the … CURRENTLY … playing … track! Sequoia's does. It shows the album cover and tracks in the queue. The only way to see the current track is to bring the app to the front and hover the cursor over the player. If the person who made that design decision reads this, please understand we're on to you. Some may think you're an idiot, but really you're just malicious.

I broke #YouTube’s already defective recommendation algorithm. It kept insisting I watch videos I’d scrolled past by putting them further down, or when I hit the bottom after a long scroll and refreshed the page, it would show the same videos resorted. The only way I could find to get it to stop was to mark each video as “Not interested”. I did that consistently and now it only shows me 4 rows of 3 and has pinned one video in the top-left that I didn’t reject. I didn’t know software could pout.
When I try to use #Bitwarden to autofill a password it requires me to enter the master password (I'm using someone else's phone and don't have access to Face ID), but it doesn't show the keyboard. Testing is for losers. I don't know if this is an #iOS27 or Bitwarden bug.
I was wondering why one of the thumbnails in a PDF document I was viewing with Quick Look in the Finder had an orange "stain" behind it. Then I realized it was from the window behind it and an artifact of the Liquid glAss abomination. Just think of all the lunatics at Apple who thought this was a good idea and actually pushed it into production code in macOS Golden Shower.

I tried a Carlinkit 5 wireless #CarPlay adapter but I'm returning it. When it worked, it worked pretty good, but I found the map refreshes such as when the map rotates as you go around a corner were jerky compared to the silky smooth rotation when wired. The Bluetooth audio lagged quite a bit too. But the showstopper was that sometimes it wouldn't connect for minutes in spite of aggressive troubleshooting. Other times, instantly. 🤷🏼♂️ And it was such a PITA to pair and only supported one phone.
the automatic subtitles on YouTube are not properly accessible. swear words being blanked out is not neutral accessibility for Deaf people like me. if the person in the video is swearing, we need to have that information conveyed to us, not [_____]. we are Deaf, not children. but no one wants to talk about this.
