DHH says "The number of Linux distros and projects that have these batty Al policies is baffling. Like rejecting the railroad because you like to pet donkeys. Oh well, more tokens for Omarchy!"

Followed by a screenshot of Redox OS's AI policy which forbids LLM generated contributions.

@RosaCtrl @soller fun fact, I (kinda) tried this! 2015 Intel macbook pro. It uhhhh kinda worked? Took a very, very, very long time but did indeed start. Then none of the peripherals inbuilt or USB seemed to work so I couldn't operate it.

No shade on Redox btw, still following it eagerly!

@arichtman @soller this is why I dream of a future of operating systems build around drivers instead of drivers built for operating systems

@soller the funny part to me is the delusion of comparing llms to railroads.

Railroads are proven with clear and measurable ROI. They take long to build and are safe. They transform communities and connect places.

LLMs are nothing like that, they are like robo-taxis - an individual transport that relinquishes all control to a 3rd party via an expensive service that just might drive you into a shooting.

  Fascists will always distort things.
