my supervisor got to the bit in the ethics application where we talk about the impact on maori and how to be culturally sensitive and they were VERY gently like "now a lot of people will say that because you're not maori and your project doesn't specifically target maori you can really just skip this part" and i IMMEDIATELY blurted out "Well that's a convenient idea but it's not true" and cracked them up
