i actually assumed it and the PHP2Shell exploit were one and the same because so many people were on fire at the same time but no, everything just happens at once

i need you all to imagine i couldn't sleep until 5 AM and got a few fitful hours and then rolled out of bed looking remarkably sluglike and walked into the catastrophically stupid eMudhra key generation thing and i'm just in awe

it's awesome how society has decided we all have to let COVID rip forever and as a result we all have to memory hole the ways in which this impacts our lives

my friend sent me an article about how Smartfood popcorn got enshittified and i'm not saying that they didn't reduce the amount of cheddar cheese in that thang but the entire article is just people going "wow my beloved snack is less flavorful now and i noticed DURING THE COVID LOCKDOWN WHEN I WAS GETTING COVID WHICH WAS REDUCING MY SENSE OF TASTE BUT I WON'T MENTION THAT PART AT ALL" and it's a bit hysterical to me

i now have both of these papers (not in english but great when translated) if anyone needs a copy :) or let me know if you want a copy of Notes of a Crocodile when i get it, i wanna share the love

also trying to find a copy of a paper called "Phoenix, Crocodile, Vampire: A Discussion of Several Homosexual Images in Taiwanese Literature" from Chen Sihe

today's book i'm trying to get my uni to buy for me is "Notes of a Crocodile" by Qiu Miaojin, translated by Bonnie Huie, after reading Chih-Chen Tsai's paper "Homosexuals Tragedy and Spiritual Love: The Animal Image, Gender Politics and Symbolic Affect in Notes of a Crocodile and Last Words from Montmartre by Qiu Miaojin"

it would be remiss if i did not point out that this typography work also looks like total garbage

the extremely accelerated decay and worsening of technology sucks big time but at least it leads to news like "Microsoft can't spell their own laptop's name at their own unveiling event and it costs $6000 so it can run the bobot on it"

EDIT: i have a lead! trying Respawn Esports Center's wiis this week, will update in a reply if i can find anything fun on the memory card :)

Does anyone in NZ have a homebrewed Wii or Gamecube and would be willing to help me with something?

I have an old GC memory card that may or may not have save data from the Sonic Adventure 2 Chao Garden of a Chao I raised with my childhood friend Owen, who died in 2017. I'd really like to safely pull this data out for use on PC, but I don't have a working console that can do so. I know hacked Wiis can run GCMM to copy memory cards to an SD where it could then be emailed to me.

I'm in Wellington but if you aren't local I can post you the card as long as you promise to be very careful with it.

I've been playing "Aniimo" which I would describe as petslop or pokeslop perhaps but is kind of cute and lets you play as the fake Pokemon and run around. However I'll never stop typing "amiino" the first time like amino acids. Not a good name choices

the French titles for Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves are making me laugh like an idiot. me when i'm posting about my virtual critters but i'm a little toxic about it

It was nice being in a fine arts class because it was just me and goth baddies and a very sweet baby trans girl all discussing how dead he was and how ridiculous it all was, not a single one of us had to pretend to be sad about it or condemn violence as an abstract concept or whatever

one year ago today I found out about Charlie Kirk's neck explosion on the way to university and when I got there I sat down in front of a goth 19 year old with green hair who said "HE'S DEAD HE'S FUCKING DEAD HELL YEAHHHHH" while doing peace signs with both hands. microcosm of modernity

update to this: same guy just called me to let me know the team decided I wasn't in crisis and they can't help me and when I said "okay... thanks for letting me know" he said "yep, bye" and hung up on me

RE: https://famichiki.jp/@FlockOfCats/117238876332947458

i use a trackball mouse so i still have to do this all the time but at least it isn't that rubberized texture that collected lint and miscellaneously sticky stuff

a guy from the mental health crisis team finally called me back, i told him i wanted to try different antidepressants because i don't think mine are fixing the depression, he responded "i don't understand why you think this is a magic bullet that will fix everything" and i started crying and he was like "do you have a cold?" and i was like "no i'm crying" and he was like "why"

dude

i understand this is a stupid question but can anyone who understands #nzpol more than me explain what TOP's deal is? on face value a lot of their policies seem to superficially align with the Greens, but they're not the Greens because...?

great thought however we live in a society

my supervisor got to the bit in the ethics application where we talk about the impact on maori and how to be culturally sensitive and they were VERY gently like "now a lot of people will say that because you're not maori and your project doesn't specifically target maori you can really just skip this part" and i IMMEDIATELY blurted out "Well that's a convenient idea but it's not true" and cracked them up
