I would have an EV right now if it had been a little easier to charge it at home

Justin DerrickJustinDerrick@mstdn.caOct 22, 2026, 6:44 PM@Philip Honestly, it wasn't much of a problem when I had mine - there were chargers at work (and building management didn't care if I used a 120V socket to slow-charge if the fast chargers were occupied) and there were L2 chargers on the street within a 10 minute walk, and a fast charger a 5-minute walk away.
About a year before I moved, they put in an L2 charger across the street from my last place.
Even on vacation, I used fast chargers and plugged into wall sockets at hotels... And in the 6 years since I bought my EV, the number of chargers has easily doubled.

@JustinDerrick I work from home so I really would be totally dependent on public charging which is pretty crowded here. There is also no 120V socket near my spot in the condo garage.
Also in the winter I'd like to not have to park my car outside thank you 🥶
