Under Æther Swiss Kite, a sustainability-oriented MAKE project, EPFL students are working to cut shipping-related carbon emissions by harnessing the power of wind. Their system is based on using autonomous kites to pull boats. The students are also working on open-source control models that could help optimize this technology and benefit other players in the sector.
