    @MLE_online cool

    I got the seeds by the way. I’ll put the tomatoes in a seed starter when I am done with work.

    Should the squash go into seed starters, or right into the ground?

    @crazybutable I would put them in starters, especially if there's any risk of late frosts that might kill them while they're babies. If you have cutworms, they might also just chop the seedlings off while they're tiny if you put them in the ground

    @crazybutable i didn't soak them. I left them in the squash too long, and when i cut it open, most had already germinated inside. This ones are probably just a little slower, but also ready to go

    @MLE_online gotcha

    I’m not sure what to do with them as I usually do winter sowing - dump the seeds in a plastic milk jug in March or April, the seeds decide when to start themselves

    I’ve got four in a plastic milk jug right now and I’m debating if I put the other 4 in a jug or if I try to do an indoor setup. I looked and my seed starting lamp is not turning on (don’t know why, it worked last time I used it a few years ago) so I don’t know about my ability to give them enough indoor light

    @MLE_online the weather is not too bad next two weeks actually

    I’m going to think about it while I plant the tomatoes. I have the remaining seeds sitting in damp paper towels

    @crazybutable I am starting mine in containers right now, but the weather is a lot warmer here.

    I don't know what condition theyre in after the abuse of leaving them in the squash too long and then mailing them, so maybe try to start them all and see how many actually sprout? Maybe you'll only get a couple plants out of the bunch

    @crazybutable No, because I have a bunch of old plastic containers already on hand. I should get biodegradable ones though. It would make things easier

    @crazybutable if you just want to germinate them, put them in a folded up paper towel, dampen it, and put it in a zip loc bag. Then just put it somewhere it won't get too cold

    @crazybutable You can let them grow in there for like a week as long as their roots don't get too tangled up

    @crazybutable I'm sure that's fine. They'll probably just germinate more slowly. When i do this, i just leave them on a shelf next to my desk, and the temperature probably swings between the mid fifties to the low eighties
