    to write a short story characterising what I perceive his mood re this to be, it would be “well, fuck! finally I no longer have to give a shit”

    yes, I am aware that this extrapolates and speculates. but this single datapoint does not stand alone, either

    (it was not long after this tweet that he yeeted out of the org, too! and we’ve seen no Principled pulpits (from him) since!)

    @glyph @jplebreton also, yes, I readily admit to being deeply cynical of claims made by these clowns, of not giving them even the slightest bit of leeway

    to that I say “they shouldn’t have lied so fucking much”

    I’ve met a few of these fuckers in person. I’m pretty sure you have too. broadly, they are not honest about things. broadly, they should be held to a higher standard of fact and truth, simply on account of a decade-long track record of untruth and misdirection

    @froztbyte @jplebreton honestly not sure how to parse this, it sounds sort of like a distinction without a difference. like it's phrased as an intense disagreement but I'm not sure where the disagreement is :)

    @glyph @jplebreton I added more words in elsebranch, but, short form is “I think karpathy’s a fucking sociopath and doesn’t give the slightest shit about his impact on the world. so maybe we shouldn’t air his nonsense”
