the job of the tournament referee is to open the multiplayer room and invite players, give each team a chance to ban one map from the pool, ask captains which map they want to play, load that map into the multiplayer room, start the round, write down who won the round, update everyone on the current match state and score
that's a lot to do, so the referee sheet helps u out with that; it gets populated with what maps in the pool and which players are playing, its formulas concatenate together IRC commands the ref can paste into their client to manage the multiplayer room and set the map and such
of course when someone wins that data gets whisked off to other google sheets which present a higher level view of the tournament bracket. who won? how'd it go? who is moving on to ro16 and who goes to loser's bracket?
o!CL is a huge tournament with six divisions running concurrently and our lovely ref Fortasse was actually multiboxing four of these google sheets and four IRC clients last night, managing eight teams and four separate mappools!!!!
