I am just an ignorant atheist. I was baptised catholic and my mom's Puerto Rican and my Dad's White. And yet, I get annoyed when I see or hear a take that conflates Arab and Persian geopolitical entities or Sunni and Shia Islam. If you can tell Germans and Russians apart, I feel like you should be able to tell those two apart.

An easy mnemonic is that Sunnis follow the Sunnah which is what Saudi Muslims are always on about.

Well, maybe it's not that easy.
