    I've had enough birthdays to not be particularly excited about them, but I will absolutely use them as an excuse to indulge in my own bullshit just a little bit more than usual.

    A piano hinge, some curly wood shavings, and tools sitting on a nice light-colored piece of pine. Clockwise from top, the tools are: - a full size router plane - a miniature router plane - a double-bevel marking knife (good joinery requires good precision) - a mechanical pencil (middle aged eyeballs eyes have a hard time finding marking knife lines by themselves)
