anyone know of a good headless ecommerce platform that hasn't succumbed to AI vibecoding?

My wife is a software developer with over ten years experience in object oriented programming and a focus on C# (and Mono). She needs remote work in the USA and has a resume including finance and game dev. If anybody knows any openings for a software generalist with a long track of experience, keen on doing good work as a player on a team (not gunning for leadership atm!) gimme a shout!

CERN transitioning into Debian just as they took on their AI policy has to feel like shit for whoever setup that move 😅

you ever feel completely alienated from the only thing you've ever been any good at

and realize that, although you hadn't planned on it anyway, you really will never work in that industry again

i might be investing my future OS hopes into Redox OS tbh 🤔

urging cyberbullies to study journalism so they can use their talent for holding the billionaire class accountable

wooff, expected better takes from Flathub tbh

have to tell one of my three interns that they're being hired.

should i:

EDIT: feel free to explain why as a reply!

"dutch economic growth despite geopolitical setbacks"

"30% profit increase for fossil fuel companies"

yeah, thank god we had "growth"

i would love to dedicate my life to make software that actual human beings want to use, but until i have either a subscription service that provides a living off of paying users, or a patreon/ko-fi/other subscription platform full of people willing to support me, there is no reason to take such a risk

is it realistic to spend my free time trying to build something like this with the pipe dream of being able to make a living off of it?

im not sure

i know that realistically the only way to have a job that does not involve AI is to start a boutique software company that specializes in replacing your day-2-day software (like Google, Apple, etc) with manually written code

the problem becomes that there is no real guarantee that people have any interest in subscribing/funding this kind of work

but the venn diagram for people that are willing to pay for this and the ones that would be interested dont intersect enough for it to be viable

anyone have a good place to look for software jobs that are not using AI? I imagine employers also have a place where they wanna look for AI skeptical engineers?

(just kidding, please volunteer your time and effort to your nearest FLOSS project)

i can fix him:

when talking about a relationship: not okay
when talking about an open source software project: still not okay

i think iig (in ieder geval ~ in any case) is one of the best shortcuts in dutch texting

anyone on here capable of listening to a podcast while programming?

for some strange reason debian keeps reinstall gnome-terminal and gnome-console 🤔

what is your favorite #linux distro and why?
what used to be your favorite?
what is a distro you've always wanted to try?

i'm thinking of getting back into debian based distros by trying Vanilla OS
