Aug 8, 2026, 10:33 PMData centers are now the physical manifestation of how billionaires and their political cronies have become parasites on the body of society, working to enrich themselves by making us ever more dependent on them for our daily lives, especially with but not limited to AI Slop in all its various evil guises.
@lauren Bruce Schneier gave a talk at Defcon yesterday, and gave his view that systems, like the financial system, and like the AI systems, are tools which can only be leveraged by the powerful against the less powerful. I think he makes a lot of sense: those who can leverage AI right now can use it to transfer yet more power into the hands of the already powerful.
@lauren Just like the railroads, control the flow, control the show. Everyone else gets to pay more for absolutely everything.
