Dumping Big Tech isn't just a matter of personal politics or even of tech sovereignty (which is a con anway) it's a matter of survival. Big Tech is the latest flag bearer for civilisation-ending extractivism and all the delusions about progress that keep us addicted to it.

I use a combination of local ZFS mirrored storage and a secure, remote, non-Big-tech backup provider. Unless the individual is sovereign wrt their data there is no sovereignty.
My data, stored on my devices, not filtered through or hosted on Google or Microsoft. Blocking email from both of their free email services. No facebook, instagram, Google docs, OneDrive, etc.
Multiple backups of important stuff on various devices.
Phone always in airplane mode. Local Wi-Fi turned on only at home, so good luck tracking my movements.
