@bagder I usually ask for the details on travel and accommodation instead of outright refusing, and I was surprised to get it covered several times!

@renchap @bagder honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the default strategy for a majority of conference organisers: "only offer travel support if asked"

@stragu @renchap it is. I decline quite a lot of conference speaking invitations as well..
