Speaking as someone who's recently had to arrange a funeral, I'm all in favour of regulations being introduced.
I'm fortunate in that I completely trust the funeral director I chose: he's my next door neighbour, and I've known him for years.
Many though are completely dependent on trusting someone they've never had dealings with before, for a service that requires tact, empathy and organisation.
A service that will cost several thousand, for something that I for one hadn't expected to need for some years yet.
