    Companies are increasingly using AI to filter resumes. Here's the problem:

    You train your LLM on 2000 resumes: half good, half bad. You don't know what connections it made, you're just thinking “Welp, that's a ton of work I don't need to do anymore!”

    In a male dominated industry, those 1000 good resumes are largely gonna have typical English male names like Bill, Ted, and Paul. The LLM doesn't know what parts of the resumes it's supposed to be looking at, only that this half is good, this half is bad. It doesn't actually know anything, it's a computer program. So when evaluating a new resume, one of the elements it will look at is the name. Not traditional English male name? That's points against it. So the LLM is gonna have a bias in favor of white men.
