@ArtHarg @randahl Economy? Consumers? Universities? Educated labour? Scientists? UV lithography machines? Quantum computing?

The EU is still the second-largest single economy on the planet.. Are you sure you’re not selling yourself off short? 🤔

@gimulnautti @randahl Adopting the American point of view:

⁃ Economy: yes, as a market. Not as competition.
⁃ Consumers: yes, as unquestioning buyers of whatever crap US producers want to sell.
⁃ Universities: no. America does not want science, let alone woke science from a continent in decline.
⁃ Scientists: no. See under ‘Universities’.
⁃ EUV lithography: yes, but sell only to who Americans wants you to.
⁃ Quantum computing: we have that in the States too.
⁃ Second largest economy? Yes, of course! That’s the whole problem!

I am definitely not selling us short. The EU is one of the single political and economic entities that the US under MAGA has little leverage over. They don’t like that at all.
