@dnanian my computer is configured to never go into sleep mode, but I lock it when step away (or it locks itself). backup got interrupted because "it went to sleep”. is it some kind of apple thingie which disables something while computer is locked? (doing bootable mirror backup)

@sashk Yes. The replicator won't run properly if the screen locks. For that type of backup, keep the screen awake and unlocked until it's done.

@dnanian Gotcha. That's exactly what I though. Thanks!

Is there any way to add sleep/lock prevention to SuperDuper! so the system stays awake while this type of backup is running? Some video players, such as mpv and VLC, already have this option, and I sometimes abuse it instead of using a dedicated keep-awake app, because I can't remember it's name :)

@sashk I actually have it in there…I'm not sure why it's not keeping the screen awake reliably.

@dnanian ah, it might be also me locking machine when leaving. Will be careful on what I'm pressing while backup is in progress.

@sashk Forcing a lock during a replication will definitely cause a failure. For regular Smart Updates (and non-replication erase), it's OK, but may require a follow-up run when you return, since some files become inaccessible when you lock.
