Location: 2nd floor, Underline Center(please note the change from our usual schedule: Sunday, and earlier in the day)
This will be a discussion focused session. Our agenda for this week revolves understanding the media on the IndieWeb beyond text.
1. Why does the IndieWeb feel primarily like a place for words? Why doesn't have space for other types of media? Why do most of us choose to write words instead of posting pictures?
2. What would need to change to see more types of media on independent websites? At an ecosystem level? For you personally? What would need to change to have a diversity of media on the IndieWeb?
3. How many people here are visual thinkers? How does (or can) that translate to your work on the IndieWeb?
4. Why are we okay sharing memes on social media and chat apps, but not on our websites? Same with GIFs. Do we have higher standards for images and other media compared to text?We'll spend the last hour of the meetup writing and publishing a piece on our personal websites. We'll provide writing prompts to get you started.
