@leavex @bike4climate @EUCommission my AC is annually saving 500 m3 of gas for heating. For cooling only used when excess electricity is available.
If that wasn't enough: 2 moderate PV panels added yo account for the total electricity consumption of it. So AC consumption goes up much slower than PV build up, whilst reducing need of fossil gas.

Why are you using m³ as a unit for natural gas? Without stating the pressure we have no idea what amount of molecules/energy/avoided CO2 emissions it is.

@ligfries I can attest to this. I installed my AC unit last year at the same time as getting six solar panels and in that year I saved almost exactly 500 m³ as well, going from an already below average 650 m³ to slightly over 150 m³. This has saved me tons of money, besides the positive impact on the environment.

@leavex It is an expense. Think €1500 to €2500 for a decent unit. So not something most people can spend on a whim, but something people can save up for.
