News outlets do not seem to be covering natural disasters as they did before the pandemic and Trump 2.0. But I also think coverage of Trump has changed a bit this past year.

Charlie Kirk's assassination and the Candace Owens drama has disrupted the MAGA media machine, as well as the fact Trump is clearly unwell. There are also two MAHA influencers who are attempting to separate themselves from the tradwife label supposedly because the tide is turning.

Nobody gave a F when people were mentioning it. Biden passed the largest climate change bill in history, created a million jobs doing it, and everyone said he didn't do anything for them.

Do anyone else feel like we're hearing very little about natural disasters these days in the news? Think this has anything to do with climate change? Seems like things that would have been big news when I was younger barely get mentioned now.

But I get to hear about every robbery in the world as if it's relevant to me.

1/ As I received this news today here in British Columbia, the wildfire smoke blankets the sky, our eyes are burning and our kid is complaining of a sore throat from it. And we’re the lucky ones. Over the weekend, more than 5,000 British Columbians had to flee their homes in 24 hours, under evacuation from just two of the approximately 130 wildfires currently engulfing the province.

2/ What is our government doing? This project defies common sense - this is corporate welfare on a surreal scale, giving a gift to an industry making $90 billion in excess profits this year, and which still refuses to pay for its own infrastructure. It makes a mockery of the duty to consult First Nations, guaranteed under our constitution. You can’t approve a project and then engage in consultation: that is just a pipeline to the courts.
