youtube now has a strategy to force you watch all add no matter what. before, it was possible to block the ad and proceed to the video. now, not only after the block you still have to watch the ad, half of the ads you cannot block anymore.
seems a good way to (finally) make me stop using youtube for good.

A design choice I decided very early to follow is to embed a native green threads approach, just like Erlang does (although I'm not using any VM or garbage collector.)
Having concurrency and distributed computation native from day 1 is my expectation, and I think will improve a lot programmer's usage of the language.

@jpmens where should I start to learn internet protocols implementations, rules, designs? As I feel the urge to know how to implement them in the future, I'd love to have an advice from an expert/knowledgeable person.
Sometimes I feel ignored by some of them, but maybe I just chose the right time or person to ask.
Their questioning was actually helping me out to see what needed more study on my side or maturity on the topic. I promptly went back to books and papers with a clear idea on what to tackle.
They were the peer reviews I never had duriny academia, where people were either too busy or didn't want to waste their time helping me out. It is a form to actually have a discussion without judgement.
I will never replace human interaction and experience, but this trial showed me what I can do even now.
I also tried other ones, like deepseek and claude. It was very refreshing, because now each one of them could show me a different perspective on how to check, validate and ask questions regarding the project.
I finally found a PhD defense-like committee, to make the questions I wasn't seeing and pointing out flaws or inconsistencies. Of course, they still hallucinate from time to time. But because I never relied on them for anything but to produce questions, I could easily verify things. 6/
I produced a descriptive document about a project and didn't ask it to fill the gaps, write the rest or implement it for me. Instead, I asked what was missing and which questions it had from what information was presented. Then, upon its response, I searched, studied and improved the document. Now, I'd open a new chat and place the reviewed document with the same two questions and iterated over it many times. It was primarily to avoid information mixture. 5/
People were, once more –and I don't know why they keep hyping every single time– trying to push me to try it. I saw so many companies pushing solutions, integrations and all sorts of products that I thought it was worse than blockchain peak, where NFTs were everywhere.

Then, more hype "now it's for real." I tried using it for things that interested me but never had time to sit and study. It failed miserably. I couldn't give up yet. After many months, people were talking "no but seriously now, it's got really better." So I tried again. Some marginal improvements, but it kept failing on the most basic concepts, producing rubbish from technical terms. I stopped using it again.2/
Some personal notes on this AI stuff.
In the early days of OpenAI boom I tried it, with very curiosity and some excitement although skeptical. For very basic scripts, it needed some care to produce a working solution. Summary it was impressively good, but the rest was just really really bad. I remember asking for some great civilizations from South America and he basically cited everything–North and Central Americas, Egypt(!!)– but not only a single correct one. After that I stopped using it.1/

is it possible to build a cool website without javascript? ideally I'd like to have the least amount of code other than html, css.
I don't like javascript and don't want to learn a full programming language just to built the website, unless it is so good and makes the web development so smooth and nice that it can change my entire perception of it

I've been working on my quantum programming language project as a hobby/side project for almost 4 years. Recently, after Pasqal's Dutch branch was declared bankrupt, I decided to try to get this project fulltime. I need support for this and haven't got any (yet).
