Starting a music appreciation thread.
Plan is to link to other standalone threads but we'll see how it works. 🙂

Ep 6: Mind Flayer - Tentacles for everyone!
Tony pitches the mind flayer (illithid) to George.
Who knew that a mind flayer pet would be so useful!

Note: This is the original D&D mind flayer, not the one in Stranger Things.

Ep 5: Trogdor - Burninating the Peasants!
George pitches Trogdor to Tony and I'm sold!
Both teens listened to this one with me and the younger is definitely hooked.

For me, this is a glorious episode since I was introduced to Homestar Runner around 2002, have the _Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits album, and we own (and still play) Trogdor The Board Game.

Ep 4: Jaws - Bruce The Shy Pooper
George pitches a Great White to Tony.
What ~do~ shark pets do for exercise?

WARNING: A little spoiler-ish for the movies if you haven't seen them yet.

Our younger teen started listening with me on this podcast and enjoyed it. We ended up watching Jaws and the teens both enjoyed it.

This is a thread of podcasts I enjoy.

I realized this morning that I hadn't played #SwordsOfFreeport in quite a while.
Had fun wandering around, picking a few pockets and enjoying the game.

Thanks again @vampiress for making an engaging (but daily turn bound) game. I'm still finding it relaxing and fun to play it. :-)

Ann Leckie is no longer on the Fediverse but if you sign up for her email newsletter at https://buttondown.com/annleckie/archive/ she often includes posts about her fitness partner (dog 🙂) Vanburen.
They both provide me positive prods to take an energetic walk over lunch.

@aesthr :
Your lifting posts remind me to do some strength training when I do make the gym. As I've aged I have neglected maintaining decent core strength so I'm working towards correcting that.

This is a thank you thread to folks I follow who post about their personal fitness journey on the Fediverse.
I use your posts as positive nudges on top of the good encouragement my wife @u2katrina.bsky.social provides in person.

@PeterClines :
Thanks for your posts about using your "equipment at hand" to stay fit. It reminds me that I too have a kettlebell and 2 dumbbells to use at home when I can't (won't) make it to the gym.

Not to be missed is the classic _Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer_ by Elmo & Patsy. A funny warning about how dangerous it can be to venture out on Christmas Eve.
"incriminating Claus marks on her back" indeed.

More thanks to @ariaflame for reminding me of this family favorite which fell out of our holiday playlist at some point.

Another new addition for this year is Tim Minchin's _White Wine In The Sun_
It is quickly becoming a favorite for me and I'll be playing for years to come.
Thanks to @ariaflame for recommending it last month.

Chis Isaak's _Christmas_ album is more traditional Christmas music, but he and the band give it their usual unique flair and sound.

Kinky Friedman's cover of _A Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis_
Not traditional holiday fare by any means but a favorite of mine from Kinky.

Thanks for all the great music and books Kinky, your memory will be a blessing to many for a long, long time.
