got a difficult read tomorrow. the book providing a model of communication, interpersonal behaviour, and the role of social status in both has a chapter on a topic I detest so much I experience extreme physiological symptoms when I so much as think of it in abstract. the other chapters of the book have long anecdotes and research summaries so I expect it to be a gruelling challenge. I'll wear a mouthguard so I don't crack any teeth and give an hour buffer afterward before any human interactions.
