    The far right:
    - Deport tens of millions of Black and brown people
    - Install Trump as a king with unlimited power and authority
    - Repeal all civil rights & enact a white nationalist Christian ethnostate

    The far left:
    - Healthcare, food, water, shelter, & education are human rights
    - Tax billionaires, get money out of politics, & save our democracy
    - Maintain separation of religion and state and reject theocratic rule

Centrists: Both sides are destroying our country but the far left is worse!

@QasimRashid It's because the so called "centrists" are actually on the far right.

Kind of makes me wish there were some sort of legal requirement that members of political parties actually be what they claim to be.

@punissuer @QasimRashid Or even just be freaking "conservative" even in the meaning of the term...

They're actually far-right zealot extremists at this point. Literally. That's... hardly conservative...

But mostly I'm just really really sick of people being in the "left" party and they're actually right. The "Republican" (nazi) party needs to be abolished outright and Democrats need to be split into "Democrats" and "Republicans."

@QasimRashid Centerists are capitalists and the far right will maintain capitalism as the standard economic model. This is why centerist is not a moral position on its own, one must be anticapitalist to be moral.

@QasimRashid thinking about this and the idea that far left in a circle still ends up in the same place as far right: conspiracy theories and lack of education for the poor and greed and domination for the rich. I think left vs right is far less meaningful than rich vs poor.
BUT. It's not really so simple. I know plenty of folks who would fall one one of those 4 extremes but also don't fit the stereotype.

@QasimRashid Obama deported more people than Trump, on the left. Obama and Biden paved the way for the mass surveillance, overriding civil liberties. Both sides are evil

@QasimRashid You are conveniently forgetting all the stuff about abolishing the state/capitalism and hanging the landlords.

@QasimRashid your centrism is far right pretending to have mixed feelings about the consequences of far right ideology. Besides, with that toot you are accepting the Overton window shift imposed by far right. What you describe as far left ideas is simply centrism.

@QasimRashid these are "floating" centrists. They find mind grounds between both sides. So if the far right drifts extremely far, the centrist center is shifting significantly rightward too. Centrism should come with a firm set of beliefs, instead of a compromise between 2 sides. Some french historians argue that this centrism in Germany led Hitler to power.

@QasimRashid You are cherrypicking the worst thing from the MAGA movement against the whole «ideological utopia» of the left.

I am NOT defending either republicans, Trump or Musk, but as someone on the right wing in a scandinavian perspective; this comparison is false.

We want free public healthcare, with freedom to also chose if we want to use private healthcare.
We want free education, with the freedom to chose what school to go go.

We just want more freedom, with the same benefits.
