"Both Katz and Slezak separately emphasized the importance of candidates and campaigns using marketing techniques like polling, focus groups, and message testing only after deciding what you stand for. That’s what requires political leadership; the pollsters and consultants can help you hone that message and help it reach people, but that should come at the end of the decision-making process, not the start."

This ought not to be so damn hard

Shenker-Osorio ripped Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries for the incoherence of their shutdown strategy. “When you say ‘fire fire fire! There’s a fascist threat!’ and then don’t run into the building to fight it, people say ‘wait a minute.’” Shenker-Osorio argued. “Say: No funding for fascism. No payouts for pedophiles. Say: I cannot fund your war against Americans.”

“Either you’re fighting fascism or you’re negotiating with a standard right-wing administration. It’s cannot be both.”

Yeah, but if every time these guys do step up they are bashed from the left it undermines the cause too. It's not an easy issue because we do need better Dems, but tactically it might be better to save the friendly fire for times when they are not out there trying to win a major high stakes battle.

Criticism is necessary when warranted. It's how we got them to do what they are doing now. There's no introspection without it.

I'll note that Indivisible National leaders are both commending the funding fight in progress while also noting the demands in play are short of what is needed.

Most important is driving calls and emails urging Democratic and independent Senators to stay strong (and reminding them of the full set of stakes involved).

Yup, as mentioned above, it is a tough one, and agree that this kind of pressure is why they are fighting harder now. Guess, the point is that we need to be strategic about how and when we pursue intra-faction struggles so as not to undermine specific tactical objectives.
