The blossoming of craft and repair culture on streaming services — baking, pottery, glassblowing, repair shop—on top of its popularity on YouTube, the expansion of my local pottery to a second studio, Cali’s new right to repair law, and the sudden appearance of a pottery-themed product story in the J Peterman catalogue suggest to me that Something Is Afoot in the culture. A fad? Prob. But a fad worth cultivating.
