I also got a lot of conflicting information about how long I need to use a catheter bag before I can change to a flipflo (just a valve). In the end they were okay with 5 days (urologist 1 said 4-5 days, today they were of a mind to have me use a bag for 2 whole weeks). Also they recommended using a bag at night for the whole period (urologist 1 said that wouldn’t be necessary). It was kind of inconclusive. I think i’ll play it by ear, maybe mail 1, she is my main care provider anyway.

I really hate using a bag. Especially during the day but also during the night it is very annoying.

Then he also dropped the next bombshell. Where urologist 1 said the surgery would be asap (which would be 2-3 months, the normal scheduling delay), urologist 2 said it would have to be 3-4 months for medical reasons. Urrrrgh.

Today I got a subcutaneous catheter for (reasons) which really sucked but it kinda wasn’t as bad as expected. The thing itself really fucking sucks though.

At first I understood I would have it for 6 weeks, but I misunderstood. It was 6-8 weeks, then they check a few things, replace the catheter, and after that they’ll plan a surgery in 2-3 months. So that was bad news.

Then they told me the checks are in 3 weeks, instead of 6-8. I thought this was a mistake, so I emailed my urologist (urologist 1). She said it wasn’t a mistake and it was due to scheduling issues and otherwise it would take too long. So kind of good news.

Then *today*, urologist 2 said again it should be 6-8 weeks, and was skeptical about the 3 weeks. And at any rate it was way too soon to change the catheter so that would have to be in 6 week (which is annoying, an additional appointment, but otherwise fine). So I kind of expect that in 3 weeks they’ll tell me I’ll have another check in 6-8 weeks (from now).

apparently I reached the stage of non-alcoholism where I am disappointed the bottle of bubbles I have open isn’t alcohol free.

I thought I was doing well and planning a party six (6!!!) weeks in advance so everyone could make it but apparently half of everyone is on summer holiday in July.

Who the fuck goes on vacation in July? The whole idea doesn’t enter my mind until that month.

I’ll have to make a tally but I might just end up cancelling it 😢

It’s also funny (by which I mean not funny) to see cops emerge on the network, “don’t send so many messages, the network can’t handle that”. That’s the thing bro you don’t own this, nobody does, stop acting like you do. Although their concern is legitimate and emblematic of what it is: there is not a lot of room on the band.

I think these mesh networks are really cool. I have a friend who’s really into this and he recently gifted me a companion and a repeater flashes with meshcore so I’ve also been playing around with it for a bit. Mainly trying to message him, who I should be able to reach with like four hops (which would include both our own repeaters) but 80% of messages fail to arrive and those that do don’t always get acknowledged (bc that’s basically a response). And the only thing it does is sending and relaying messages, the whole thing is kind of built around chat let alone getting some other traffic going.

Routing is non-existent until a route is found, but finding a route is quite taxing on the network.

As it is: really freaking cool, but also kinda useless.

I've printed my ASCII art properly for the first time! My friend helped me to get the colours and the quality absolutely perfect. Really happy with the results!

I wanted to maintain the feeling of the original super-long ASCII-scrolls, so I made several prints at 21x200 cm. I also printed one with a more traditional ratio, using 600x160 text characters.

I showed these works together with Karin Iréne Andersson's patchworks, and they worked really well together. Text & textile, always united.

I think I may just have had the best ramen in my life today. Now, this might be a pretty low bar to clear as I have not had it often, especially if you don’t count instant ramen (which I don’t), but today I was hit with the “oh, there can be a quality difference in the noodles” realisation. The broth was amazing, and the ingredients all were great. It was so good! A bit expensive for ramen (€21 for the bowl) but totally worth it.
