Had some acronym’d friends over to play D&D and then MTG Commander, followed by some excellent food from @PRINCESS

We all had moderately-to-really bad weeks at work, so venting helped us a little. But it also struck home what I wouldn’t be doing now I’ve missed out on that position. And it would’ve been so cool and fun. And it made me sad again.

This whole song and dance is really fucking tiring at times :neofoxSob:

An altered Windows 95 pop-up warning message states, "You are running out of 'it is what it is.' Are you sure you want to continue?" with options to select "Yes," "No," or "Help.”

I think—and I didn't reply before when you explicitly requested opinions because I haven't applied for a job this millennium so I felt like I wasn't the right person to opine—but I think that if you're unhappy thinking about your job and how they're treating you BUT you aren't sure leaving is the right choice, probably the best course is to keep your head down and keep working and simultaneously look around and see if there are any other jobs you want to apply to.

You don't even have to apply to them! And if you do you don't have to take them! But it might be less unpleasant to choose between "the thing you know and this other specific thing" than between "the thing you know and this nebulous idea of another thing."

Drawback to this plan: looking for work fucking sucks. You don't really need another soul-killing drain on your energy. And yet.
