As the global quest for better tech continues, we are still proud to be the European and AI-free browser alternative that puts users first.
Vivaldi 8.2 is already available for download with:
✨ More built-in functionality for an easier day-to-day browsing, including a local calculator in your Address Bar, and better PWA discoverability.
📢 The beginning of a new chapter, with the first Technical Preview of Vivaldi for enterprise.
Sep 3, 2026, 7:36 AM@Vivaldi still doesn't work with #strava unfortunately, https://strava.com only partially displays and has done for several vivaldi versions
Sep 3, 2026, 7:42 AM@Einzigartiger @Vivaldi aha! thank you J I, added "strava.com" to the tracker exception list and now they can track me to their heart's content while actually showing me a useful page
Sep 3, 2026, 8:51 AMSep 3, 2026, 8:52 AM@ajft @Vivaldi So thanks to @Einzigartiger I know the reason for the problem. :-) Thanks!
Sep 3, 2026, 7:37 AM@Vivaldi Thank you for the PWAs. Links from teams and outlook will finally open in Vivaldi instead of Chromium.
@Vivaldi I finf this browser absolute rubbish..
This is what it says when I try to load this place.. "https://mstdn.social/home"
"Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from mstdn.social (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). Learn more

@Vivaldi Thanks. A simple question: is it possible to change your brand’s red into another colour. Red is a warning signal I can‘t have in view all day, I need something calm.
@christianschwaegerl of course! We don't call ourselves "the most customizable browser" for nothing. You can change the theme (browse through thousands of community created themes on themes.vivaldi.net) or create it yourself under Settings > Themes :)
@Vivaldi 'In der Web-App öffnen' is way too big. I don't need this feature at all, but is there at least a way to make it icon-only?
Plus, as it seems you're focussing on PWAs at the moment: Whenever I click on a browser notification from a PWA I've installed in Vivaldi, #Vivaldi crashes entirely. Have seen this all the time, just sent you another crash report.
There's no option to display only the icon, but you can hide the button altogether from Settings > Address Bar > Address Field Options.
Then, whenever you wish to add a new PWA or open an already installed one, use the previous method of right-clicking on the tab and selecting Progressive Web Apps > Install/Open [website name].
@Vivaldi Great update! Would be great if I could change size of those horizontally pinned tab tiles in vertical tab bar.
Sep 3, 2026, 10:30 AM@sirrichard try Settings > Appearance > Window Appearance > User Interface Density > change Regular to Compact layout
Sep 3, 2026, 9:35 PM@sirrichard if needed, you can also increase @Vivaldi UI Zoom
@Vivaldi Happy release day. Another update that makes the best browser even better. It's fantastic. A relatively small team is showing the big tech companies what innovation and user-centered development really mean. Many thanks to the VIVALDI team for their passionate work. :tony_wee: 🎈🎉🥂🍾
@HalleAndert thank you for your unwavering support!
@Vivaldi Supporting your work is a real pleasure. :tony_wee:
@Vivaldi I will consider the switch, Google is pissing me the fuck off too much lately and I'm lazy so it's difficult to get me to change. But this ai slop is breaking everything.
@KittenKoder hey, switching is a pain, I understand. But there's a better world out there waiting for you!
@Vivaldi opera and vivaldi user for almost thirty years here. Thanks for being there :)
@ivorytusk thank you for your support!
@Vivaldi
I'm using the 8.1 right now. I'll download
"The stable release of Vivaldi 8.2 has arrived!
"Get the full story by visiting the Vivaldi blog <vivaldi.com/blog/desktop>"
later.
@Vivaldi hahaha, digital sovereignty? You're literally proprietary Chromium reskin
Will you be coming to #sailfishos? 😀
@Vivaldi
Thanks!
Fixed bugs VB-114431 and VB-116406?
@Vivaldi Vivaldi also has RSS discoverability, which is pretty rare in modern browsers. https://vivaldi.com/features/feed-reader/
@chrisp oh yeah, we're super proud of supporting "old" technologies we think are useful, such as this, while not falling for the new technologies that we don't see a need for, such as built-in AI in a browser :ablobderpy:
