It's a stormy old night #stormboelo

Last night I was talking about nicknames for our neighbours and everyone thinks they're hilarious.

Our racist grandma next door neighbour who we call the Ku Klux Nan.

Barbara, the Christian conservative old bag across the road who earlier this year ended up in hospital when she stood on a rake. She's now known as Sideshow Barb.

Yes, we're like that.

New phone day yesterday hence my sudden disappearance. Basically I dropped my Pixel Fold 10. The inner screen fractured internally and one half of it went black. You could feel the glass inside actually cracking.

Claimed on the device insurance and they couldn't supply me a suitable replacement so they cross graded me to a Pixel Fold 11.

Honestly I've not really noticed much difference in the operation - the only real change I've noticed is the camera does seem to be quite a lot better in low light and bear in mind pixel cameras are already very respectable.

This is why I no longer upgrade frequently (I kept my original Pixel Fold for over 2 years until it broke) and it's because phones have now become so similar that it just feels like the same device in a different case.

Yeah pretty much true

Are we in poppy rage season yet?

For the record I will not support the Royal British Legion. They did absolutely nothing at all to help my family when my brother was drinking himself to death. They can stick their rabid "ownership" of everything poppy related right up where the sun doesn't shine.

I nicknamed it "Poppyright Infringement" years ago because they will quite literally sue anyone who tries to put poppies on anything at this time of year.

Oops.

Just filled the storage on my Chromebook.

GB News to launch ‘all-British’ radio station – playing only British music | The Independent

Based on how left-wing most musicians are I suspect the music they'll be permitted to play will be a very small list.

Jay Aston (the one on the far right in Bucks Fizz) and Far Right Said Fred I suppose, with the occasional splattering of The Proclaimers.

Bedtime story is Harry Potter stories, read by Mike Read.

Yesterday was my father in law's funeral 😭

I do scrub up well though.

I actually had carte blanche to wear full leather but I toned it down a little and just put some leather trousers on. I don't actually have a black suit that fits at the moment so not a lot of choice really!

"I bet those hurt don't they?"

A comment made yesterday about my many piercings; so I thought I'd talk about them (so I can share this post with the person who made the comment)

So do they hurt now? Not at all. Never.

Ok, a lie. Sometimes if I sleep on my right ear with the upper conch piercings and my ear ends up folded under it can be a bit owwie in the morning for a moment but for the most part I forget I'm wearing almost 50 grammes of metal per ear.

Did they hurt when I was having them done?

Yes, but in different ways. Some of the more "normal" looking ones hurt the most; and stretching a piercing is a little bit stingy when you first start to push the next size taper in - but if you're stretching and it's hurting a lot you're going too fast.

The interior ones hurt the least as there's very few nerves inside the conch, and the only one that grossed me out somewhat was having the tragus piercing done (the little flap at the front) only because you can hear the pop. Which is quite frankly disgusting!

The most painful to have done was the frontal helix up at the top front - that was quite sore for 2-3 days and actually gave me a sleepless night.

Do you take them out at night?

Never. Every single one stays in every night. I actually never take any of them out ever - not in the gym, not at work, not when I'm riding rollercoasters (yes the g forces do pull them down!)

Can you change them yourself?

A lot of people with body piercings rely on their piercer to change their piercings, but not me. I've always been able to change mine myself. Every last one. The only ones I sometimes struggle with is the horseshoe ball end ones and that's just because my brain has to figure out the thread directions on the screw.

Do you change them? Such as to match outfits or moods?

Not really. I prefer to just keep the same ones in. Sometimes when I'm going out I'll put an orbital in (it wraps around my earlobe going through the inner conch piercing).

Hope that helps!

Flying really close to the edge of a no-fly zone (a prison) is always a bit of a bum clencher; but with careful planning I managed to capture these lovely photos of Foxton Locks.

Seriously, does anybody actually like Adobe as a company? I know I won't pay them another penny for anything ever after being caught up in their *now illegal in the UK* practices on auto-renewing contracts; paying a fortune for software I couldn't use.

I'm watching this project with great interest, not because I actually support AI or anything created in it, but hurting Adobe's bottom line is something I do appreciate.

Had a few of these overnight, mostly from two servers. #mastodonadmins #mastoadmin

I am so very sorry. #dadjoke

I'll leave now.

Oooooh

Well I think all that theme park & junk food I've lived on for the last few days is about to hit the bomb bay.

I truly despair of our nation. We're having a load of new civic buildings constructed in Rotherham.

The thickies are truly out.

Mrs "does anyone use libraries anymore" to which I responded "Yes. Anyone doing higher education"
Her response? Laugh emoji.

Yeah well it's clear where her education and wage ceiling stopped.

This was the second one - commenting that it's flat roofed. I think my response summed everything up.

Thank god I've got the smart and educated people of the Fediverse who counteract the gutter level IQ's of some of the people on Meta.

Scottish School Holidays isn't it... grrrrrr

My Alton Towers trip may need a fastpass...

"That fire alarm you put in has a fault on it already"

Yeah, perhaps if you hadn't fucking hit the sounder with a bed, eh?
