How important is “fit” when hiring?

I've got a candidate who, in all respects but one, is a perfect fit. Basically a unicorn for our weird tech stack.

But lord is he dull. Near as I can tell he has no interests outside of work. Just a bland white middle aged guy.

The rest of the team is moderately diverse, and interesting, and have active internal lives.
