I use this all the time, very useful tip!

Unfortunately I've actually been going out in the Sun this summer and now my tone-match foundation is more like a highlighter and my highlighter is like a hooner's glaring high beams

If anybody knows who this creator is I would love to link to them. Unfortunately this version I saw had the attribution cropped off 😒

A person with wavy dark hair, a trim beard, and moderately dark skin shows how to apply foundation to the bags under your eyes. Subtitle "stop applying your concealer like this."

Transcript:
I've seen so many people use a lighter concealer under their eyes like this to brighten up this area, and I'm sorry to say but this looks horrible. Especially if you have proper dark circles and also your under eyes are hollow like mine. Like I literally have contours under my eyes. And nobody talks about this, everybody's just blindly following trends. Instead of, you know, doing makeup as per your own face structure.

So first, colour correct your under eyes. Colour correction is extremely important, otherwise no matter how expensive you concealer is, your under eyes will always look ashy. Now when you apply lighter concealer on hollow under eyes it highlights them more and the point is you don't want people to notice the hollowness. So you use a shade that matches your skin, see how that completely blends into your skin.

And now you take the lighter concealer and instead of brightening the under eye we're going to create a bright spot on the cheek, right in the centre of the eye and on the cheek bone. Now join them by blending them together.

And now the focus will shift from the hollowness of the under eye to the cheek bones and your face will look more lifted. And once you set your under eyes with powder you can't even notice your under eyes so much. The idea is to draw attention away from your hollow under eyes, instead of highlighting them.
