The UN just issued a 94-page detailed report documenting that the Israeli government committed genocide by deliberately targeting Palestinian children—killing more than 20,000.

You won’t see corporate media cover it. You won’t see politicians who voted to fund Netanyahu be asked about it. You won’t see AIPAC be questioned about it. Silence to this atrocity is complicity with this atrocity. Stop listening to any journalist, and vote out every politician, silent on this genocide. Enough.

#Pride seems really sparsely attended this year in #Toronto -- I'm sure that Fifa driving the price of visiting the city way up, and the efficiency of transit way down, isn't helping matters. And, of course, many corporations (especially those from the U.S.) aren't bothering with rainbow-washing now that the political compass has shifted away from a world where we're a valuable commodity. But it's notable that #PrideToronto has continued to take a super problematic stance on cops, and has kept inviting them and giving them money, even with all the nonsense happening around the world and a massive, ongoing police corruption scandal in the city.

It makes me sad to see so many people either skipping events altogether, or feeling pushed to create alternative spaces with less history, community, and funding. Much as I understand the impetus behind something like #AbolitionistPride , I personally don't like ceding ground and walking away from the spaces we already had, and I really prefer to take disruptive steps to take back what was already ours (the #TakeBackTransMarch people have the right idea, in my opinion).

Walked both Trans March and Dyke March with small contingents from my union, and am signed up tomorrow to distribute water and swag at the union float. Bought some handmade art (cute linocut prints on zipper bags!), had drinks with friends. But it's empty out there. No lines at the bar patios, and plenty of elbow room in the street. Feels sad.

#PSA: Y'all might want to block or defed tags.pub and tagpush.app domain, because they're bot-boosting anything with hashtags.

My recent underwear post has a boost for each hashtag on it, and fuck this bot using my AlicePics tag as a username to boost all my nudes.

People can already follow hashtags, we don't need an *opt-out* bot-swarm to make things more "discoverable".

I don't need *every* server to see my nudes. Just the ones who have my actual, human¹ followers on them.

Let's say you make $50K every year after tax. You spend none of it, and it all goes under your mattress.

In 20 years, you'll have a million dollars.

To be a billionaire, you need to make $5 million a year for 200* years, and spend none of it.

And we're not even talking about interest. If you have $1M in investments, with an extremely modest 3% interest rate, that's a passive income of $30K a year, taxed only under capital gains, which is far less than how much you'd be taxed if it were regular income. (Wealthy people often bring in 10%+ interest from their investments.)

$1 billion is an obscene amount of money, even without the interest and tax issues.

I really hate the fact that "being hate-crimed" is a valid concern that basically all visibly queer people have a gut-level understanding of.

There was a certain period in the old Twitter days where we in Australia would wake up only to find that overnight a new meme had taken hold, and the entire website was already so many layers deep in spins and references that the whole thing was totally incomprehensible by the time we woke up
