@MissConstrue this is the danger of binary thinking. Platner got a big boost from people who didn’t want to vote for another old woman or a moderate. This is what you get when you fall for someone who can give good speech.

People want the kind of candidate Platner was trying to impersonate. Bad. Really, really, really bad.

It's simply not allowed.
What we want and need would cost the sugar daddies money and power. They'll pull any and all strings they can get away with, to make sure we don't ever get anything but the absolute bare minimum that'll keep us from tearing their castles down.
I'm very uneasy about whatever horrible slimy plans they have in store for candidates like Mamdani. They're not just going to sit by and let these folks succeed in real ways that might raise our expectations.
