This looks really interesting. Does it also touch on printing covers? I am planning to buy a printer with the express purpose of making zines, and the part that trips me up is the cover.

@sauc3 honestly it probably won't give you too much insight into printing covers specifically.

It's a guide more oriented towards the folks who pop up on the zine subreddits asking about what printer they should buy without really interrogating what they need from a printer.

So it's probably too high-level if you're experiencing specific printing issues.

@sauc3 perhaps it's unsolicited advice, but the main thing I'd suggest is know what paper weight your covers are/will be and checkout the user manual for the printer you want to get and see what weights it can do via it's tray(s) or if you need to use the bypass (if it has one).

tbh the good thing is most mid-range+ laser printers & inkjets can do decent weight paper through the bypass or top-feed.

I made zines when I was in college and graduate school, and I am eager to get back into making them again. I do have questions about the right type of printer to buy, and I was planning to pick up your eBook a little later today.

Mostly I was just curious about how to get those cool covers printed. :) Because they look great and I feel like it kicks the zine up to the next level.
