At a catered event I had some Oyster mushrooms or Chicken of the Wood mushrooms in a faux-chicken meal and at that moment I resolved I can't deal with faux-meat.

I've been trying to go vegetarian for months, but have been struggling to work both fibre and protein into my meal plans so this going to be such a game changer.

I've also decided I'm probably a bean-girlie rather than a tofu or mushroom-girlie.

I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but I'm super excited that my copy of Soph's Plant Kitchen 30 in 30 has arrived!

The imposter syndrome is also crazy because like: can I do my job good?! IDK. Can I make art good?! IDK. Can I swim good?! IDK.

Is anything about my identity very stable at the moment? No. 🫪

One of the hardest things at the moment is at work I’m on a 12 week “growth adventure” which means I’m working in a product team on a product change which is stressful af.

AND I’m doubling down on this art thing. So far this month I’ve done this exhibition AND gone to Adelaide for a short course, and like I won’t lie… I feel like I’ve put myself in this very precarious emotional situation?

Like sure it’ll probably all be fine and I’ll do great but lord the feelings. :blobcatgooglynotlike:

Now I need to prep for a two #LinoPrint / #linocut exhibition in August and finish a few oil paintings for another… and the Overwintering project in November. I guess an artists work is never done :blobcatartist:

i'm bec (they/them) i have a day job as a security engineer, but i spend my time outside of that painting, and occasionally battling linoleum blocks like they personally wronged me.

i make #zines about my love for hot chips, the cursed colours of the world, printers, paper, and bullshit jobs in infosec.
