I discovered today that sighted people don't listen to audiobooks. They consume them. no wonder sighted people don't understand audiobooks. Sighted people can't just sit down and listen to something. They consume audiobooks while doing other things, and think I'm a genius when I can recall more of the book than they can with less effort. #Audible #Audiobook #Audiobooks

@fasnix Looks like an interesting channel! I tried to see if it was in podcast apps and could not find a native feed, so I turned the channel into an audio podcast with https://podtube.me/index.html
@fasnix No because it would eat up my costs and my bandwith and eat up my download limits! It's $5 monthly for a good size space and playlists and channel updates and otherwise. I honestly don't understand why he has a YouTube channel since he really doesn't need video. :)
@WeirdWriter Some of us give them our full attention. But I will say they also make the time go faster if you are stuck doing a tedious job.
@BrettCoulstock Oh I am sure! It's been a decade since I had an office job, but even at home, I get it! Mostly! I'm the kinda listener that gives them my full attention. :) Same with AD movies/TV BTW
@WeirdWriter i mean, for me it's the same as with music. sometimes i listen to music, sometimes it's part of the background. same with audiobooks. it's actually kinda the same for anything that goes via the auditory medium for that matter, though podcasts tend to be more consistently in the "background" category for me.

@WeirdWriter how about the music part of the comparison? do you put music in the background, or is it also limited to deliberate listening alone?

This is exactly why I read books that I want to focus on. I can't sit and listen with nothing else to do. I end up focusing on my hands and eyes not having anything to do. If I lay back and close my eyes I fall asleep 😄
