    @lproven Cycling, for a physicist, occasionally gives one the chance to see into a catastrophic future where events will play out in a completely predicable manner which is horrible no matter which option you choose. (So wear a helmet! And maybe, while inadvertently doing an aerial 360° maneuver you will have as nice a view as I did above the edge of an ocean cliff. Maybe when you drag your bleeding self to the workplace to dutifully inform management that you will be taking the day off, you won't be told to get back to work.)

    So that's what it was like for many Americans in November 2024, at the election, as the character of many of the big actors was well known by that time. Now we have the USDOJ in court arguing the other side of propositions like "is Congress responsible for writing laws" or "do words have meaning" or "now that I am in court, is the judge the boss of what happens now".
