so the Vatican just published a TL;DR history of the Lefebvre schism. what interests me is how the RCC rationalizes his excommunication:
since Lefebvre was one of the cardinals of the 2nd Vatican Council, he was given numerous warnings and passes, and even suspended from ecclesiastic work; for defending fascist dogma as real #catholicism, instead of the Beatitudes.
so the #RCC sees Lefebvre’s 1988 ordination of bishops as excommunicating himself with the impostors.

in this editorial, the #Vatican’s media people explain more pointedly the issue with Lefebvreites:

just so y’all understand that the #SSPX is basically a #fascist cult, without Lefebvre there would have, most likely, never been a Jean-Marie Le Pen or a National Front in #France
