    sometimes I wonder if I’m being too obstinate in my refusal to use genAI; people I respect seem to like using it for programming, after all

    but I keep on seeing Codex write objectively awful code which people with normally high engineering standards somehow think is OK

    and I become more of a hater

    @Ninji I'm seeing more mistakes in code written at work. "More lines of code" but less quality. I'm really tired of it.

    @Ninji it's always the ppl that just test the functionality and don't even read the code they generate that spit out the hottest garbage, by the most generous guess opus 4.8 is right like 20% of the time and the other 80% is stuff u have to fix

    ....buuut if you're editing unorganized garbage anyways then sometimes 10 min generating + 6 hours QA is technically less time than 7 hours writing + 1 hour QA
