I need gift ideas for 2 little girls 5 & 7. Their Dad recently got his PhD and they are excited and inspired to be doctors themselves one day.
They are BC First Nations, living on Vancouver Island.

@AnnieBuddy If dad likes reading to them I highly recommend Bea Wolf. The older girl could likely read it herself. It's great fun to read aloud and the illustrations are amazing.
@Chigaze @AnnieBuddy Both the artist @bouletcorp2 and writer @ZachWeinersmith are at least nominally on Fedi, too!

Being on Fedi is a strong endorsement. I might just have to take a look...
I neglected to mention that some of the Suzuki books are filled with experiments. Not only are those excellent books, but you could give them a small sack with whatever the particular book needs, a few balloons, a mason jar, graph paper and pencils, whatever it happens to be - the books are great in that most of the stuff is household items.
If the scope is a bit bigger, you could offer to handle logistics and fees for a trip to the Bamfield research centre. They say they "host field trips for learners of all ages, providing an in depth introduction to marine biology" https://bamfieldmsc.com/education/educators/ and https://bamfieldmsc.com/education/bring-your-group/ suggests there might be groups of similarly-aged kids going who might be willing to have joiners.
Also they say "Regular clients have included the Huu-ay-aht First Nations" https://bamfieldmsc.com/eventspage/ so there might be culturally relevant opportunities as well.
Some 7 and 10 year olds are quite capable of asking pertinent questions of poster presenters too, so if their ears perk up at the idea of being able to ask researchers about what they've done, you could handle logistics for them to attend whatever poster session at UVic or UBC or one of the colleges.
Or offer logistics for them to attend or participate in a kids' science fair if they aren't already going.
