After successfully evicting their own slave-owners, the Haitians hoped for help from the freedom-loving USA, but forgot that it was an oxymoron of a country founded by slave-owners who wanted to be free. (Thanks to George Carlin)

The notion of our republic is of a government where the people elect representatives who then don’t really represent their constituents: really a form of limited slavery designed to make people that are free to work as hard as they can for little in return, camouflaged with a “democracy under the god of capitalism” label.
Not to belittle how terrible slavery really is.
