Using acronyms divides your audience in two groups. Those that *think* they know what it means and those that *don't* know what it means. Both groups now feel not fully connected anymore. This can lead to dangerous consequences, depending on the acronym. Ranging from your message not getting through to people relying on their possibly wrong interpretation of the acronym. So spell it out at least once, ideally at the first use in the conversation. It makes things so much better.
