If you post good news, but preface it with "I know the world sucks right now," or "something to smile about among all the horrors," or even just "finally, some good news," you're still directing people's attention to the general atmosphere of bad news, which tends to dampen the psychological effect of the good news.

There's no moral imperative to bookend the wins that way. You can just talk about good stuff every now and then.
