Bobby dumped me outside Salinas because she had the hots for this guy who ran what he called an "intentional community" but was in fact a survivalist cult. The only reason I "let her slip away" was that there were two big guys posted outside the door to the house where they all lived, and when I tried to get in to see her they knocked me on my ass and told me that they'd do worse if I came back, so I didn't. I reconnected with her on Facebook about 35 years later and we exchanged a couple of emails, but that trailed off because hers were about 90% "9/11 was an inside job" BS and I just didn't know how to respond. I really dodged a bullet there.
