I recently discovered that my local NHS trust had started using what I've learned is being called "ambient voice technology" for note taking and summarising appointments. This wasn't something anyone mentioned to us, but they had some posters about it up in amongst all of the other posters that nobody ever looks at. So, um, that's informed consent I guess?
Key point from the posters: "No audio files are stored [...] Conversation audio is immediately deleted", which made me think I am going to have start making my own recordings. And then it struck me that making my own recordings was probably always a good idea because of the sheer volume of errors in the post-clinic letters they send.
